Seeking Deepsky Earth

While looking for a source of earth for Deepsky Citadel, Redscar runs into an old adventuring companion who might be able to help. Simon “Dwarf-face” Buttress agrees to get some dirt from his clan hall and accompany the heroes to Deepsky when he hears of the pregnant dwarven mother.

Gemeyes’ Expedition

The heroes are approached by an enterprising surveyor named Gemeyes who claims to have found a stash of pirate treasure deep in the abandoned mines of Silver Deeps. They journey overland to the abandoned town where they find evidence that captives have been tied out in the glow to sucuum to madness.

Disciples of Madness

Deep in the mines of Silver Deeps, the party is betrayed by Gemeyes and led into a voider trap. A powerful void priest and a horde of glowmad attack them in the dark tunnels with the intent to “convert” them to the ranks of the Lightbringer.

In Kinslayer’s Wake

Redscar’s old companion, Simon “Dwarf-Face” Buttress, gets some Deepsky earth from his clan and the groups sets off for Deepsky Citadel in their new dwarven frigate. Along the way, they find the wreckage of a ship attacked by Kinslayer. Redscar flies over to the burning wreckage and begins frantically looking for survivors. He manages to find a lone dwarf trapped under a fallen beam and pulls him to safety, flying away moments before the destroyed ship plummets from the Skies.

A Feast with the King

In Deepsky Citadel, word spreads fast about the pregnant dwarven mother and the heroes are escorted to a feast with King Dale Bloodaxe. The King explains the declining birth rate and how Kinslayer has been terrorizing the Lower Reaches. The Artificer has closed off access to the Factory as a security precaution. If the heroes are able to lure out Kinslayer with a decoy ship and defeat him, they will be granted an audience with the Artificer.

Kinslayer Takes the Bait

Disguising their ship as a merchant vessel, the heroes set out into the trade lanes to lure Kinslayer. After eight days of travel and some nasty weather, Kinslayer appears in his vile galleon Stonesplitter. The heroes spring the trap, unveiling their cannons and blasting a vicious round across Stonesplitter’s side while it moves to board. Kentor fires salvos of explosives onto the deck, thinning the pirates’ numbers. As the ships move together and both sides prepare for battle, the heroes spot Kinslayer, a massive 8-foot tall iron golem.

A massive battle ensues as Kinslayer’s mad crew pours onto the decks of the Steam Punk. Eventually Kinslayer and his crew are defeated, though several of the heroes are wounded. As Kinslyer’s metal body sparks and smokes, two spirits are released from their prison: the soul of Kalin Broadblade and a wicked shadow demon known as Whisperer. The soul of Kalin Broadblade binds to Kinslayer’s hammer, giving the heroes another Artifact of Souls.

Audience with the Artificer

Back in Deepsky Citadel, the heroes are heralded as the saviors of the dwarves and given an audience with the Artificer. Deep in the Factory, the heroes are brought before a mechanical manifestation of the Artificer where they discuss the nature of God Shifters and learn that Godslayer may only be destroyed in the forge that created it.

The Artificer has been devoting “priority thoughts” towards locating the source of the God Shifters’ powers. He has so far been unsuccessful, but warns that heroes that a powerful demonic entity is at work within the Skies. It has power that rivals that of a god and is working tirelessly to bring down the Soulshield from within. The God Shifters are this entity’s minions, both mortal and demonic, that it has imbued with a fraction of its power. The Artificer commends the heroes on their efforts to repair the Soulshield and wishes them luck on their future quests.
